About NewAct
A musical theatre workshop where children don't just perform a musical — they create it too.
The workshop
NewAct Musicals is a musical theatre workshop where children discover the joy of the stage and learn to become authentic, creative and confident artists.
Students explore the world of musical theatre: they learn singing and acting, and also the creative process behind a show — how a character is built, how dialogue and scenes are written, how a musical story is structured, and how an original song is born.
This is my story
In the workshop, the creative process matters as much as the final result. Children are encouraged to ask questions, share their opinions and discover that their experiences have value and deserve to be heard. Through the songs they write and perform, they learn to communicate honestly, understand their emotions and build a healthy relationship with their own creativity.
At the end, the children are not only performers in a musical but its creators: authors of stories, characters and songs that carry their own imagination and experience. The stage becomes the place where every child can say, with confidence and joy: "This is my story."

How we work
Every child chooses a song from a musical, and we work on it technically and as a performance: who is singing, to whom, where, what they want — and what emotion we carry to the audience.
Discovering your voice — range, colour, which characters suit us. We experiment out of curiosity, not criticism, and learn to give feedback that helps.
Improvisation and play — age-appropriate exercises for ease, body awareness and connecting with others. We use the actor's tools (Chubbuck method), mime, observation and movement borrowed from dance.
Costume and props — how an object or a hat changes a character.
Writing together — from object writing to a full song; each child works on a song for the scene they write, and on a song of their own, which we produce afterwards.
Caring for your partner — how to help a scene partner, how to listen, how to deliver a line.
